Visiting the centre on Tuesdays
Wendy Hall trained at the West Midland School of Chiropody in 2003. She attended the University of Northampton graduating with a BSc (Hons) in 2022. Wendy lives in Abbotsley, St Neots where she has a small clinic at her home, practicing from there and conducting domiciliary visits since she initially qualified in 2023. She is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry.
Wendy carries out diabetic foot screenings, checking the pulse and sensations of the feet. She cuts the toenails and treats any corns and callosities as required. She looks at the foot structure, function and gait, prescribing insoles if necessary.
Wendy is aware of the importance of infection control and so all instruments are sterilised prior to use. The clinics are cleaned to the required standard for the protection of all patients.
Foot health and care is vital to diabetics and others at risk as they are liable to infection or may not feel it if they injure themselves. She can advise about this. Untreated callouses can cause ulcers and untreated infection spread to the bone. Diabetics are at greater danger of amputation or sepsis due to this.
Healthy feet are happy feet! It is far more difficult to smile when your feet hurt. Untreated problems with gait and foot function can also cause knee and back problems.
