Qi GONG Classes with Thelma Segal at Huntingdon Neurotherapy Centre, Bradbury House
Thursday 12.15 to 1.15pm at the Centre. £5 a session. All ages and fitness levels welcome.
Tai Chi Qigong is an ancient Chinese holistic practice of slow, low impact movements that incorporate posture, breathing and focus to cultivate a smooth energy flow through the body.
It calms the mind, improves wellbeing and fitness. It is often described as a gentle moving meditation. As it is low impact it is suitable for all ages and abilities. It can also be effective if done in a seated position just gently moving the arms.
Classes consist of a gentle warm up, classic Qi Gong practices such as :
The 5 Elements
The 8 Pieces of Brocade
We practice these alongside short guided meditations and stretching excercises for intention of movement through expansion and release of the musculoskeletal structure. The movements are based on the Yin and Yang principles, balance is an essential part of Tai Chi. Like nature, we are happier and healthier when in harmony.
The sessions are quietly relaxing which allows you to have some time for yourself to calm the mind and allow the body to recharge and promote an overall sense of wellbeing.
Thelma says “I consider Tai Chi as a life long journey which can be started at any age, I have been practicing for over 30 years and I consider myself as a student, always discovering new elements of the many Tai Chi forms. I am a registered Instructor of the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain”.
No sign up / No membership required £5 per class. Held at the Huntingdon Neuropathy Centre next to the Olympic Gym Elsie’s way off Mayfield Road Huntingdon PE29 1UL
